Civil War Chamberlain "Charge at Little Roundtop""CHAMBERLAIN'S CHARGE AT LITTLE ROUNDTOP"
SOLD OUT
An American Civil War collectible, "Chamberlain's Charge," by Mort Kunstler. The artwork depicts Colonel Joshua L. Chamberlain ordering his forces of the 20th Maine to charge Robert E. Lee's Confederates in a "hold that ground at all hazards" attack, though they were almost exhausted and out of ammunition. During this battle of Gettysburg the battle-weary Southerners retreated. The excellent print is highlighted by skillful mat cutting that draws attention to the brass crossed swords. Included also in the picture is an authentic Civil War Centennial Gettysburg stamp which was issued July 1, 1963. The oak framed picture, with glass, measures 15 1/2 by 12 1/2. It is matted using three mat colors and has a 1/8 inch cut-out line that highlights everything in the picture.
